Caitlin Clark thanks fans on social media after historic rookie season

With Clark at the helm, the Fever looks to grow on this year's success and continue to make an impact both on and off the court in 2025.

INDIANAPOLIS — For the first time since the Indiana Fever were eliminated from the opening round of the WNBA playoffs, Caitlin Clark took to social media to thank her supporters after a record-breaking rookie season.

In posts to X and Instagram, Clark wrote,"Year one — thank you to the many people who have supported me as I’ve been able to live my childhood dream. I’m filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year of my life. See you all in year two."

Caitlin Clark season recap

Expectations were sky-high for the Des Moines native after she was the No. 1 draft pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

From passing Pete Maravich's record for all-time scoring in NCAA basketball history to taking home countless awards as an Iowa Hawkeye, all eyes were on Clark in her WNBA debut.

Although she didn't have the flashy numbers at the start of the season that fans were accustomed to, Clark settled in and started racking in WNBA records.

She broke the league's single-season assist record (337), the rookie record for 3-pointers (122) and scored the most points ever for a rookie (769), averaging 19.2 points per game.

For a WNBA player who had arguably unprecedented levels of hype surrounding her arrival to the league, Clark had an incredibly successful rookie season that culminated in being named the WNBA Rookie of the Year.

Clark, along with stars such as A'Ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier and Angel Reese, brought in record attendance numbers and viewership for the WNBA.

Despite the Fever's loss in the playoffs, it was by all accounts a storybook season: The team clinched its first playoffs since 2016.

With Clark at the helm, the Fever looks to grow on this year's success and continue to make an impact both on and off the court in 2025.
