INDIANAPOLIS — Caitlin Clark and Tyrese Haliburton may have been on different sides of the Cy-Hawk rivalry back in college, but as professional basketball players in Indianapolis, the pair are working together to make a difference.
Clark was one of many athletes to serve meals at Haliburton's Come to Our House Season of Giving Dinner on Monday. The event welcomed 700 people experiencing homelessness in Indiana to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a free meal.
The WNBA Rookie of the Year was joined by Indiana Fever teammate Lexie Hull and assistant coach Karima Christmas-Kelly. Many of Haliburton's teammates on the Indiana Pacers also participated, including Myles Turner, Bennedict Mathurin and Pascal Siakam.
The Season of Giving Dinner is an annual holiday tradition that began 27 years ago. Haliburton took up the mantle back in 2022 during his first full season with the Pacers.
"It honestly means the world that the organization let me be a part of this," Haliburton told The Indianapolis Star. "Every year, this is my favorite event just because it just really puts things in perspective and [we] get to see some happy faces."
The Fever are coming off a historic season, having secured their first playoff birth since 2016. While the team ultimately fell to the Connecticut Sun in the first round, the season was a major turning point for the young team.
Meanwhile, the Pacers are just 10 games into their 2024-2025 season with a 5-5 record. Haliburton and his teammates will face the Orlando Magic (5-6) on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m.
