INDIANAPOLIS — The first pick of the WNBA Draft wasn't unexpected, but that didn't make it any less electric.
The Indiana Fever released a behind-the-scenes video of the moment they selected Caitlin Clark as the No. 1 overall first pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft, filled with cheers, laughter and lots of excitement.
General manager Lin Dunn did the honors.
"The Indiana Fever selects Caitlin Clark, University of Iowa," Dunn says in the video, prompting a round of applause from what the Fever calls their "war room".
Head coach Christie Sides then runs around the room doling out high fives — an understandable reaction for a team who's snagged the nation's top pick two years running.

The former Iowa guard and West Des Moines, Iowa, native led her Hawkeyes to title game greatness two years in a row. And though Iowa won neither championship matchup, Clark redefined success during her college career, shattering records made by Kelsey Plum, Pete Maravich, Lynette Woodard and many more.
As part of the Fever, Clark will play alongside Aliyah Boston, last year's No. 1 overall pick and 2023 WNBA rookie of the year. Together, their star power and powerful playing could bring the Fever to new heights.
The Fever announced last week that 36 of their 40 regular season games in the upcoming season will be on national television. That includes two games on ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, CBS, CBS Sports Network, Prime Video and NBA TV.
