Car collides with train in Woolstock, 2 seriously injured

Both individuals were transported to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines by air ambulance.

WOOLSTOCK, Iowa — Iowa State Patrol reported that it responded to a a crash Saturday evening that left two individuals in serious condition and involved a car colliding with a train at 330th Street and Alice Street in Woolstock.

State patrol said that the car was travelling eastbound on 330th Street at 6:40 p.m. when it hit a moving train, leaving both occupants in need of air ambulance transport to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Both occupants are reportedly Webster City residents.

Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Wright County Sheriff's Office as well as fire and EMS services from Woolstock, Eagle Grove and Webster City.

No further information has been released at this time.
