Ames police: Motorcyclist dies following accident Sunday afternoon

AMES, Iowa — A motorcyclist has died following an accident Sunday afternoon, Ames police said in a press release.

Police and fire personnel responded to the area of Bloomington Road and Top-O-Hollow Road to investigate a report of a motorcycle crash around 4 p.m. Sunday. 

When they arrived, first responders found a crashed motorcycle and the driver injured in the road. 

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital, where they later died. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
