DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines Police Department officers alongside personnel from the Des Moines Fire Department responded to a report of a pedestrian that was hit by a vehicle around 6:30 p.m. Monday night, officials say.
The pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in the 5500 block area of SE 14th Street.
First responders, after arriving to the scene, found a man with critical injuries. After using lifesaving efforts including CPR, the man was transported to a local hospital to continue receiving care.
SE 14th Street northbound is currently closed at Diehl Avenue.
Investigation into the accident is ongoing.
