DES MOINES, Iowa — A driver was killed Sunday night when his car crashed into a utility pole, Des Moines police said.
The Des Moines Police Department was dispatched to Indianola Avenue and Pine Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday on a single-vehicle crash. Police said that the car was driving west on Pine Avenue "at a high rate of speed" when it tried to turn left onto Indianola Avenue but it "left the roadway."
The car then crashed into a utility poll before rolling.
