DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police announced Wednesday evening that pursuit of a vehicle driving "erratically at high speeds" led to a crash with injury at Ohio Street and University Avenue.
According to DMPD, the chase began at East 14th Street and University Avenue, and the driver continued west on University.
The pursued vehicle rear-ended another vehicle at Ohio Street and University Avenue.
The suspect driver was transported to the hospital for evaluation and the other involved driver was treated on-scene, said DMPD.
Westbound lanes on University Avenue are closed temporarily according to authorities.
