DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured three pedestrians Wednesday night.

Police responded to investigate a report of two pedestrians hit by a car at approximately 7:40 p.m. Wednesday on SW 9th Street and Army Post Road.

When they arrived, first responders found two people, a 42-year-old man and a 45-year-old man, unconscious in the street.

Both men were taken to local hospitals and remain hospitalized as of Thursday morning. The 42-year-old man is in critical condition.

A third person, a 25-year-old man, suffered a minor foot injury after being hit by the car. The man declined medical assistance, according to police.
