DES MOINES, Iowa — A passenger vehicle and a semi-truck collided on I-35 Thursday morning, leading to minor injuries and some spilled fuel, according to Iowa State Patrol.
The crash, which led to the tanker rolling onto its side, happened around 9 a.m. Thursday near 158th Avenue on I-35 northbound.
Though the truck overturned and the car sustained damage, Sgt. Alex Dinkla with the Iowa State Patrol told Local 5 only minor injuries were reported at the scene.
Some fuel spilled after the crash, but the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has since cleaned it up and claims there is currently no threat to waterways.
First responders will continue to clear the area throughout the delay, so the Iowa State Patrol advises drivers to expect delays near the scene.
