CALHOUN COUNTY, Iowa — One man is dead and another injured after a two-vehicle crash Thursday in Calhoun County.
The Iowa State Patrol says it happened Thursday around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 20 and Zearing Avenue. That is about 15 miles southwest of Fort Dodge.
A preliminary crash report from ISP says 84-year-old Michael Leith of Manson was going north on Zearing Avenue on an ATV and did not yield to the right of way across the highway.
Leith's ATV was then hit by a car going east on Highway 20, according to the agency. Leith died from his injuries.
The driver of the car was hurt in the crash but was not sent to the hospital.
