Man killed in Clay County crash Wednesday

CLAY COUNTY, Iowa — A man has died after being thrown from his motorcycle Wednesday morning in Clay County, Iowa State Patrol said in a crash report.

Officers responded to the three-vehicle crash at the 1500 block of 350th Street around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

54-year-old Douglas Wayne Nielsen of Everly was traveling eastbound on 350th Street when his motorcycle hit the rear of the car in front of it. He was thrown from his motorcycle and was struck by a car in the opposite lane.

Nielsen died and was transported to a nearby funeral home, according to state patrol.
