Police: Rollover crash hospitalizes 2, causes lane closures near I-235 West Mix Master

Traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions near the I-235/35/80 West Mix Master in West Des Moines on Sunday evening.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Two people are hospitalized and multiple lanes were closed after a rollover crash on I-80 on Sunday evening, West Des Moines police confirmed with Local 5. 

Police say a westbound vehicle rear-ended another westbound vehicle near the 5600 bock of I-80 West, causing it to roll over. 

There were four occupants in the rollover vehicle: three adults, and one child. Two of the adults were transferred to local hospitals for their injuries, while the other adult and child sustained minor injuries. 

Both east and westbound lanes of I-80 were impacted by the crash. Traffic has been reduced to one lane in both directions near the I-235/35/80 West Mix Master in West Des Moines. 

Multiple ambulances and police vehicles responded to the scene. Police also asked everyone to avoid the scene as investigation continued.
