Here's how much rain fell in central Iowa on Saturday

Totals ranged from nothing all the way up to 4-5 inches!

A weak area of low pressure moved through Iowa late Saturday spawning a few severe thunderstorms; a few reports came in of quarter sized hail and winds to 60 MPH.

Also, some much needed rain arrived! Here are some selected totals across Central Iowa:

  • 3.5" in Boone
  • 2.75" near Ackworth
  • 2.6" 1 mile SE of Story City
  • 2.6" on the north side of Ankeny
  • 2.57" in Gilbert
  • 2.5" 4 miles north of Dallas Center
  • 2.4" in Coon Rapids
  • 2.34" in Bagley
  • 2.3" in Maxwell
  • 2.16" in Gilbert
  • 2.1" 1 mile west of Ogden
  • 2.06" 2 miles west of Ames
  • 1.8" just south of Nevada
  • 1.75 on the SW side of Ankeny
  • 1.25" in Grimes
  • 1.1" in Johnston
  • 0.62" in Urbandale
  • 0.12" just west of Norwalk
  • 0.1" 3 miles NW of Martensdale
