Families receiving WIC benefits, who live in a number of counties designated under a federal disaster declaration from last week's derecho, are able to get extra help.
The Iowa Department of Public Health said people living in the affected counties can request to replace WIC foods. IDPH leaders said WIC foods bought between Aug.1-10, and either destroyed or damaged because of storm damage or power outage, can be replaced.
