Thursday snow totals: Clarke, Warren counties top the list with 7-9"

The snow has ended with most in southern Iowa getting 4-8" Thursday.

DES MOINES, Iowa — The snow has ended, and central and southern Iowa are now blanketed in snow from Thursday afternoon, and roads across the region are still mostly covered with snow and ice. Most areas south of I-80 picked up 4-8" of snow, but there was an area north of the Metro up into Story County where some heavier snow developed.

Here are some of the reports we have as of 4:30 p.m. Thursday:

  • 9.5" Oskaloosa 
  • 8.5" in Chariton
  • 8.0" in Indianola
  • 6.8" in Ames
  • 6.8" in Albia
  • 6.0" in Pella
  • 6.0" Waukee
  • 6.0" in Boone
  • 5.0" in Perry
  • 3.8" in Roland
