24-hour rainfall totals for central Iowa: How did your city stack up?

The system helped flush out the tropical humidity and knock temperatures into a more comfortable category as we head into Labor Day weekend.

ANKENY, Iowa — A pattern-changing cold front moved through overnight. Thankfully, storms were largely tame offering little more than some needed rain. Widespread rain totals from 0.5” to 1” fell across central Iowa.

Not only did this system bring the rain, but it will flush out the tropical humidity and knock temperatures into a more comfortable category as we head into Labor Day weekend.
