Snowfall over southern Iowa early Wednesday morning
Roads south of the Des Moines metro have been troublesome for the Wednesday morning commute. Snow-covered roads extend down into northern Missouri. The worst of the conditions seemed to be between IA-92 and the Missouri border based on traffic and plow cameras across the region.
By late Wednesday morning, the roads should be considerably improved. Ground temperatures are warm and the daytime conditions will work to melt any established snow on the roads. Even though additional snow will fly through the early afternoon, little in the way of additional accumulation is expected.
