IOWA, USA — Sunday's heavy snow band didn't disappoint. Luckily for the Des Moines metro, the band shifted north of I-80, dropping several inches of heavy, wet snow along and north of Highway 30.
The lottery winner from this snow event was in far northeast Greene County, where nine inches were reported a few miles east of Paton. Six and a half inches were also reported in Carroll.
Luckily, this coming week, winter is mostly in the rear view mirror. By Thursday and Friday, highs will get back into the 60s with storms in the forecast.
Here are some of the reports we have as of 3 p.m. Sunday:
- 9" just 3 miles east, northeast of Paton
- 6.5" in Dayton
- 6.5" in Carroll
