DES MOINES, Iowa — Local 5 has issued a Weather Impact Alert for Wednesday, Oct. 30. These alerts help keep you informed of severe weather that will impact you.
Strong to severe storms are possible across central Iowa between 3-10 p.m. The main threat will be strong winds, with the potential for a few tornadoes across the southern three tiers of Iowa counties.
Widespread 1-2" rain totals could produce urban ponding or flooding.
Storms will exit southeast around 10 p.m. with lingering wrap-around showers dwindling towards daybreak.
More than 2,000 MidAmerican Energy customers are without power as of 5 p.m.
