Car fire blocks lane of I-80/35 during Friday morning rush in Polk County

First responders tell Local 5 there are no injuries.

POLK COUNTY, Iowa — Crews are working to battle a car fire that's blocked part of I-80/35 in Polk County Friday morning.

Chief Mike Cardwell with the Urbandale Fire Department said both his and Johnston-Grimes fire also responded. He said it's under control, and no injuries are reported. The cause is believed to be mechanical. 

Capt. Ryan Evans with the Polk County Sheriff's Office said there was no one inside the car.
