Benji last weighed in at an impressive 99.8lbs, but with all the treats she received from the Iowa Live team, we just might have helped her reach a solid 100lbs! Don't be intimidated by her size, Benji is a gentle giant. She does her best not to pull on the leash, and knows jumping on someone is out of bounds. Instead, Benji will stick by your side and lean in close. Her favorite activity by far is cuddling up with her humans
"She wants to be the princess of the family," explains Kenzie Miller, Event Manager at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. "She loves attention!"
Benji will do best as the only dog in a home with lots of space to explore! She's a patient girl, but prefers a mature home with older children to play with.
Adoptions fees for dogs and cats 6 months and older are only $30 until this Sunday for the School's Out Adoption Event! Pets are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped before going to their new home. Puppy fees have also been reduced from $450 to just $250! If you need something to do this weekend, the ARL has you covered with Pedal for Paws! Tomorrow, participants will peddle from Captain Roy's in downtown Des Moines to Sully's Irish Pub in Valley Junction. However, this isn't RAGBRAI!
