Layah is a pup of many faces. With an expertise in cosplay, Layah is just as comfortable playing a rootin' tootin' cowgirl as a fearless space princess. But no matter who or what she's dressed as, Layah's sweet personality shines through! This two year old pup loves people. She can't resist greeting new friends with copious kisses, asking for belly rubs or collapsing into your lap. Only once her appetite for cuddles has been sated can Layah fully explore her surroundings. Though don't be fooled, she'll happily come bouncing back to your side when you call!
"She's great for a busy family," explains Cat McAuliffe, Therapets Coordinator at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, "loves to go on walks and runs and a big backyard would be great for her."
Layah is the perfect fit for an active household. Small children might have trouble withstanding her onslaught of kisses, so the ARL recommends a teens an up home. She also tends to be awkward around other dogs and would benefit from an introduction to any household pets.
Passionate as she is, Layah is, overall, a gentle girl who's great in the car and at walking on a leash. Once she polishes her skills, Layah will make a great fit for the Therapets program at the ARL! Therapets trains volunteers and their pets - whether cat, dog, pony or pigeon - to help brighten people's day! Volunteers visit care facilities, schools, libraries and more with the simple goal of bringing smiles.
