Olympic bronze medalist Brittany Brown thanks Hawkeye fans in video

Earlier this week, Brown finished third in the women's 200m final with a time of 22.20 seconds.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — "Olympians made here!"

That was the message from USA Olympic bronze medalist Brittany Brown as she addressed the Hawkeye State in an Instagram video Thursday, reflecting on her time at the University of Iowa.

"I won my first medal while I was training at Iowa in 2019," Brown said. "I love that I feel all the support from the Iowa Hawkeye fans and to be a part of that class of people who have medaled at the University, it's just a great feeling."

Earlier this week, Brown finished third in the women's 200m final with a time of 22.20 seconds. Her USA teammate, Gabby Thomas, won gold at 21.83 seconds, while Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia won silver at 22.08 seconds.

Brown said her time at Iowa helped build her work ethic and taught her she was capable of achieving her goals.

"I also learned to be nice, just be 'Iowa Nice'," she said with a laugh.

To close out the video, Brown expressed her gratitude for Iowans and Hawkeye fans, calling them her "Hawkeye family."

"Thank you for all the support and the love," Brown said, adding, "I want to come to Kinnick, so who's gonna organize that?"

Will Brown make an appearance at Kinnick Stadium this football season? Only time will tell. The Hawkeyes kick off their season against Illinois State on Saturday, Aug. 31.
