Karissa Schweizer posts to Instagram ahead of next race: 'We aren't done yet!'

Schweizer went to Dowling High School in West Des Moines before attending the University of Missouri, where she won three national titles.

SAINT-DENIS-D'OLÉRON, France — Karissa Schweizer isn't ready to leave France yet. In fact, she has one more chance to win a medal.

The Urbandale native finished 10th in the women's 5000m final earlier this week and will run in the women's 10,000m final Friday at 1:57 p.m. CT.

Schweizer posted to Instagram Tuesday ahead of the race:

"10th place for my strongest Olympic Finals finish yet, and best place for an American since 2008! 

This year has been full of ups and downs and getting to compete in that final in front of a full stadium was truly magical✨

@paris2024 we aren’t done yet! Time to reset and get ready for the 10k Friday night!"

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Schweizer finished 11th in the 5000m and 12th in the 10,000m.
